Soup can make a dull day turn bright and the soup that takes me to that happy place is this simple to make butternut soup that will leave you licking your soup bowl. This is my no-brainer dinner option when we want to have something simple yet amazing.
Crepes can be flavoured according to an individual’s preference, so if you’ve got a savoury pallet, you can make one that is savoury by adding a bit more salt, spices and a few herbs and have it with sautéed mushrooms or bacon! Yum! If you like yours sweet, like our house does, you could add a sweetener such as agave/sugar/honey to the batter and serve it with a dollop of ice cream, whipped cream or for a healthier treat, some in-season fruits and nuts.
I’ve learnt to customise the banana and oatmeal pancakes depending on the experience I’d like us to have during pancake mornings by adding cinnamon and a bit of cardamom to give it a spicy feel or adding peanut/almond butter to give it a nutty flavour. At times I add a bit of vanilla bean paste to give them an exotic flavour or I just add seasonal fruits and berries to the batter to uplift the overall outlook of the pancakes.
